Why PayPal

Credit card fraud has increased 400% in the last eight years. Many vendors and internet suppliers have secure pages for their customer's orders and we do also. But secure pages are not a foolprof way of ordering. Secure pages can encrypt the data that you submit to the vendors but cannot prevent fraudulent use of credit cards.

Normally, internet vendors make use of merchant accounts. Merchant accounts collect the money from your credit card immediately and some verify the validity of the purchase and the credit card status. However, some vendors provide the credit card information to their merchant account providers on a weekly basis, too late for verifying a credit card purchase. And not all customers have credit card protection against unauthorized transactions.

Purchases through PayPal are verified immediately. When you sign up with PayPal you provide your credit card information to them, not to the vendor. When you make a purchase, PayPal forwards the purchase information to the credit card provider for confirmation. Award 2ooo does not see the personal info you provide with your transaction.
